How to get to Mekong Delta

Airplane: The biggest airport in Mekong Delta is Ta Son Nhat airport in Ho Chi Minh city or Can Tho airport in Can Tho province. After land off in these airports, then you can take a long bus to different provinces. There are some flights between Ho Chi Minh City and RachGia in Kien Giang Province.

Bus: Take a bus in The West bus station in Ho Chi Minh city. There are buses to all provinces in Mekong Delta provinces.

Motorbike: The road system in this region is quite convenient. It is also possible to travel by motorbike. Traveling by motorbike, you can get free to arrange your trip and stop any destinations during the trip.

When to go

In Mekong Delta, there are two distinct seasons: dry and rain. The delta can be visited all year-round; however, the best time suggested by Mekong delta tour agencies is the dry season from November to January. This is the coolest time of the year; the average temperature is around 28oC. The monsoon lasts from May to October; however the rain never lasts too long, typically for one hour, and the temperature is also not too hot.
